Dr. Garcia, a professor in the School of Education at University of California-Berkeley, discussed measures to transform institutions and make them more accessible to students of all backgrounds.

The event formally began the University's 80th anniversary celebration and was attended by nearly 200 alumni, faculty, corporate partners and Board of Trustees members.

Â黨ÊÓƵ will host numerous on-campus events throughout February to celebrate Black excellence and provide resources to current students.

Salgado serves as the faculty advisor for student organizations such as the LGTQIA+ group RU Proud and the Association of Latin American Students (ALAS).

Nominations for prospective candidates to serve on Â黨ÊÓƵ’s Board of Trustees are being accepted now through the end of January.

During the luncheon's Q&A, Ayala-Bermejo discussed the legal challenges facing immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border and how the Instituto works to support them.

Beginning in the Fall 2025 semester, all accepted students from Illinois with an annual household income below $50,000 can attend Â黨ÊÓƵ tuition-free.
